COURSE OVERVIEW

The 2026 Courage and Innovation Symposium is a one-day activity structured as a comprehensive educational symposium striving to educate clinicians, physician trainees, advanced practitioners, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across a wide range of specialties in the application of innovative therapies for cardiovascular disease. 


The distinguished faculty for this event includes many of the foremost clinicians at the University of Chicago Heart and Vascular Center as well as internationally recognized guest faculty. Through focused didactics, panel discussion, case studies and interactive dialogue, participants will gain both broad perspective and detailed insights into medical and surgical therapies for complex cardiovascular disease.

About Courage and Innovation

TARGET AUDIENCE

The 2026 Courage and Innovation Symposium has been designed to meet the educational requirements for clinicians, physician trainees, nurses, and other healthcare professionals across a wide range of specialties in the application of innovative therapies for cardiovascular disease.

SYMPOSIUM OBJECTIVES

Upon Completion of this CME activity participants should be able to:

  • Identify advanced heart failure and contemporary therapeutic management.
  • Identify the current diagnostic and management strategies for common and uncommon   cardiomyopathies, including infiltrative cardiomyopathy.
  • Discuss device strategies for management of heart failure, including remote monitoring.
  • Discuss the role of arrhythmias and valvular disease in heart failure and therapeutics.
  • Discuss the latest scientific evidence and guidelines in cardiogenic shock management and the role of acute mechanical circulatory support.
  • Discuss contemporary management of pulmonary hypertension
